For a one-night only, Wednesday September 30, 2015, Midtown Oyster Bar and Wynwood Brewing Company have created a joint 9-course tasting menu highlighting the best flavors of New-England and Miami. Ticket holders will experience an especially designed paired menu by Executive Chef Ralph Colon and Missionary of Beer David Rodriguez with 9 tasting dishes and beers from 7 to 9pm at $75 per person (all inclusive). With each new beer tap opened, the MOB crew will showcase a new dish as guests mingle.
In addition to Wynwood Brewing’s staple beers such as La Rubia Blonde, Magic City Pale Ale and Wynwood IPA, the brew team is pulling quarterly seasonal specials such as Rickenbacker Pilsner and Father Francisco Belgian Golden Strong along with some specialties such as Stiglitz and Scotchy Doesn’t Know Scotch Ale. Meanwhile, Chef Ralph Colon matched existing dishes such as the oysters and the smoked Scottish salmon on toasted brioche with dill cream cheese to the beer selection. But he also created a handful of modified versions of current dishes to enhance and complement the beer flavors. The meatball and goat cheese sliders and the grilled gulf oyster Kilpatrick are a play on off-menu dishes, perfect for the hoppy context.
“The idea for this event was to truly explore the potential in pairing our food in a casual way with excellent local beers,” clarifies Chef Colon. “We are very excited to partner up with Midtown Oyster bar because our beers are meant to be eaten with a range of different foods,” explains Missionary of Beer Rodriguez.
