La Mar by Gastón Acurio at Mandarin Oriental, Miami presents a weeklong celebration in honor of Peru’s Independence Day starting on July 26 through August 1, 2015, including a Sunday Brunch feast and an exceptional dinner menu of iconic dishes by executive chef Diego Oka.
Paella Sunday Brunch
On Sunday, July 26, guests will delight in a sumptuous Sunday Brunch (USD 85) featuring a live action Paella station of Arroz con Pato, made with confit duck, black beer, squash, corn cider and cilantro, and traditional Peruvian music played live.
Brunch will also include a display of seafood cebiches, causas, tiraditos, and Peruvian-style sushi rolls found at the Cebiche Bar, and the Anticucho Bar station will offer hot specialties including grilled anticucho skewers, empanadas, sliders and whole fish. Guests will also enjoy their choice of one Peruvian entrée specialty, Chaufa Aeropuerto for the table, unlimited brunch cocktails, and decadent desserts.
Each evening from July 26 to August 1, chef Oka will present festive family-style platters of classic Peruvian cuisine including “Piqueo Frio,” with Cebiche Mixto, Causa Cangrejo and Seafood Jalea (USD 45); and “Piqueo Caliente,” with Anticucho de Corazon, Aji de Gallina Empanadas and Yuca with Ocopa Sauce (USD 45).
The flavorful dishes will pair perfectly with La Mar’s Independence Day cocktail specials, the cucumber-basil Albahaca Pisco, refreshing Eucalyptus Mule and the Tiki Limeño with spicy-infused pisco, rum, gin, passion fruit, fresh citrus, falernum liqueur and nutmeg (USD 15 each).
On July 28, Peru’s official Independence Day, the Peruvian band will return to La Mar to provide a lively celebratory atmosphere.
The Independence Day Sunday Brunch will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 12pm to 3:30pm. The dinner menu will be available July 26 to August 1 from 6pm to 11pm.
