This past Saturday, RandoMiami was invited to join the 7th Annual Tour of Kitchens benefiting the Coral Gables Community Foundation and the Culinary Arts Program at Coral Gables Senior High School – an invitation to explore absolutely beautiful Coral Gables homes while munching on bites from local restaurants!
You’ve driven past them. We’re talking about those luxurious estates under sprawling Banyan trees and the whitewashed town homes that everyone drives by and could picture themselves calling home. Gracious home owners were on-site to greet wide-eyed tour guests and walk them through their perfectly manicured homes. Local businesses including Victoria’s Armoire, Aragon 101, Books & Books, and more participated by creating inspired table displays and offering culinary items for sale.
The Tour of Kitchens is self-guided and the day kicked off with an Opening Event at Snaidero Kitchen & Design with complimentary mimosas, coffee and breakfast bites. Each tour participant received a wristband and program booklet with details about the homes and their complementary sponsors – now it’s up to you to choose which of the 10 homes you start and finish at. All homes were within a 10-minute driving radius and you have from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. to explore them at your leisure. You could also enjoy a VIP limo experience or group bike ride. Yummy bites were served at each of the 10 homes provided by Whisk Gourmet & Catering, Mesa Mar Seafood & Table, BrickTop’s, Tarpon Bend Raw Bar & Grill, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, La Taberna Giralda and MANY more. Some of RandoMiami’s favorites were the tuna tacos from Mesa Mar, the meatballs from Anthony’s Coal Fired and delish donut creations from The Salty Donut. Oh, and the flowing champagne.
In addition to the edibles, each home presented kitchen-related items for sale from local businesses as well as a stunning table-display by a local store for inspiration in your own space. Some tables had ornate centerpieces while others were chic & simple – but each had their own unique design to fit with the space. The real treat was exploring the beautiful home interior and their backyard pools, terraces, golf course views and more.
A closing event was held at the immense Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery with delectable desserts and plenty of champagne paired with a silent auction featuring culinary-themed gifts including gift cards, art and more. Sweet cravings were satisfied by Misha’s Cupcakes, The Salty Donut, Vixi Gelateria, Oh My Gosh Brigadeiros and more. One especially sales-focused Girl Scout almost got me to purchase a couple boxes of Thin Mints and Tagalongs to cap it all off!
The Tour of Kitchens is your invitation to explore stunning Coral Gables estates while enjoying tasty bites all beginning and ending with great parties in local galleries – we highly recommend joining this tour!
