Available 7 days a week, NaiYaRa’s new happy hour from 5-7pm packs a punch both in the liquid and food form! Handcrafted cocktails are as pretty as they are strong while savory snacks are beautifully plated with flowers and range from spicy Kimchee Fried Rice to a delicious bowl of Phat Ramen. Nicknamed “$7 before 7”, all wines, cocktails and even all 11-food options are only $7! There are also bottles of beer for $3.50.
We sampled all 4 cocktails at the bar and the Tom Kha-Pina (mezcal, charred pineapple shrub, lemongrass and cilantro) was sweet & aromatic while the Kai-Piroska (kai lychee, crème de cassis and topped with prosecco) was bubbly & went down too easily. The bartenders shake the craft cocktails up using uniquely prepared local fruits – with one cocktail even being served adorned by a sliver of house-prepared beef jerky.
The Thai-concept restaurant is in the local-friendly Sunset Harbour neighborhood and was named after Chef Bee’s daughter. His dining concept is inspired by Bangkok’s street food scene in Old Siam – and the flavors and plus a kick of spice definitely shine through! One of our favorites, the Kumomotos oysters, are served on the half shell with a slightly spicy sauce and crispy shallot strings. We were also big fans of the unique Tempura Papaya with its dried shrimp, garlic, thai chili, peanuts and lime – it was an explosion of flavor!
Juicy yet crispy Fried Chicken Wings, spicy Thai Guacamole (eggplant, hard boiled eggs and jalapeños!) and the distinctive Crispy Pad Thai dishes were all delicious and a generous portion for only $7. Vintage posters, elephant murals, industrial and craft lighting come together as a feast for the eyes at this stylish & fun happy hour spot! Bring some friends along and be ready to want to stay for dinner afterwards…
