Being that I have lived in Miami for all of my adult life I have yet to really fully explore all the gems that the Florida Keys has to offer. Whenever I have visited the Keys it has always been to go all the way down to Key West and visit MM 0, while sipping on a margarita and eating conch fritters.

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to do some extra exploring down in Islamorada, also known as the fishing capital of the world. Down there sits a few amazing properties that are part of the Islamorada Resort Company, that you would be completely out of your mind not to visit.

My absolute favorite is Postcard Inn. They are currently undergoing some renovations to make it even more magical than it already is. First of all, this is where the famous Tiki Bar lives! Very soon it will be up-and-running again so you can pass by and have a few rum runners. Besides that, the view is absolutely spectacular from all the rooms. They have also redone all of the rooms making it feel just like an oasis. You are going to truly fall in love with this spot. Pelican Cove is also an amazing spot, right off the water, that is perfect for anyone looking to host a full wedding party!

Now, if you are looking for something family friendly and a bit more posh then you need to head to Amara Cay Resort. This resort is recently renovated, so when you walk in everything is clean, pristine and blue. The cool thing about Amara Cay is that they also have Oltremare Ristorante for those who prefer to dine in. Here you can enjoy dishes like their frito misto, burrata salad, lasagnette, ravioli with lobster, and almond cake.

Besides being able to stay in one of these beautiful resorts you also have some delicious food options outside of the premise. You have spots like Snappers, which is one of my favorite spots to visit, Tapa Vino, and you need to check out Islamorada Beer Company for some local beer!
