When you first walk into Café Prima Pasta on Miami Beach you are instantly greeted like you are family. As soon as you give the host the name on your reservation you are handed a complimentary Bellini while you wait. As you wait for your table to be ready you spark a conversation with a couple that has been eating at the restaurant since they first opened their doors in 1993. This is what Café Prima Pasta is all about – running a family owned business and providing their loyal customers with only the best traditional Italian food.
Lucky for you, during the months of August and September the guys over at Café Prima Pasta have created a “Spice” spin-off menu called the Miami Prima Menu. This means you can stop by and try the food they are famous for and for only $39 (for a three-course meal).
When you take a look at the menu it’s going to be very hard for you to chose which dishes you want to try. I suggest you go with someone who is adventurous and you each order a different plate to try! For your appetizer I highly recommend you order the Carpaccio Di Manzo, which is thin slices of filet mignon sprinkled with imported extra virgin olive oil, zesty lemon, and parmesan cheese. And, your friend must order the Eggplant Rollatini. It's heavenly!
For the main course, without a doubt, you are ordering the Veal Pizzaiola. This is a dish that Café Prima Pasta is known for. This dish comes with tender veal scallopine with peppers, onions, mushrooms, olive and fresh tomato – all in a white wine sauce with a side of vegetables.
And last, but not least, dessert. Everyone is always excited when dessert comes around, right? For me, Café Prima Pasta makes one of the best tiramisu’s in Miami. This homemade dessert has the perfect balance between the ladyfingers and the mascarpone cheese. You’ll want to eat the whole thing by yourself.
Oh, and don’t let the waiter forget to give you your Limoncello parting gift!
