There is nothing better than a scoop of ice cream or gelato on a hot summer day. Here in Miami you’d be happy to know that we have some pretty awesome shops to really cool you down.
Here are a few of our current favorite spots for those of you who are looking for a scoop, or two, of ice cream!
ChillN Nitrogen Ice Cream
17831 Biscayne Blvd. | Aventura, FL 33160
This ice cream shop is probably the most unique one in Miami. They freeze their ice cream on the spot using liquid nitrogen. I usually get hazelnut, which is a scoop or two of Nutella. It’s pretty cool to be able to watch the smoke pour over the bowl from the freezing nitrogen right in front of you. Want toppings on it? No problem. They will mix any toppings you want into the ice cream, so every bite is perfect. And for all you frozen yogurt lovers out there, they make that too!
436 Española Way | Miami, FL 33139
If you're in the South Beach area head over to Milani on Española Way for some delicious gelato. They have a variety of flavors and they make them all fresh daily. They even had pistachio flavor, which I can almost never find at ice cream shops these days. The gelato is rich and their seating is adorable – chairs and tables that look like ice cream cones. It’s a little pricey, but it’s a perfect spot if you’re strolling the streets of South Beach.
670 Lincoln Road Mall | Miami Beach, FL 33139
When I'm on Lincoln Road I always stop by 4D. There's almost always a line, but it goes by quickly and is well worth the wait. It's conveniently located near the center of the Lincoln Road Mall, which makes it a great snack for any sweet tooth spending some time shopping, or even as an after dinner treat. Make sure to try their Amarena flavor; it's a best seller!
3301 NE 1st Ave #101. | Miami, FL 33137
Latteria is the newest addition to the gelato scene in Miami. Having opened shop in Midtown they are in the perfect location for those that just want to hang out and enjoy some delicious gelato. They pride themselves and being true to their Italian roots, and they do not add any preservatives to their gluten free gelato. I would order a scoop of their hazelnut and stracciatella, that will really hit the spot.
Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant
128 S Federal Highway | Dania Beach, FL 33004
It’s a bit north of Miami, but a spot you must visit at some point if you’re a local, or even if you’re just driving through. Jaxson’s takes you back in time. It’s an “old fashion ice cream parlour” as they call it, with walls decked out in memorabilia from top to bottom. They have just about every flavor of ice cream you can think of, and the portions are pretty large. They even have a small candy shop at the front of the restaurant, which displays all sorts of candies and toys to choose from!
Sloan’s Ice Cream
700 South Rosemary Ave. | West Palm Beach, FL 33401
Unfortunately, Sloan’s hasn't made its way down to Miami-Dade County just yet, so you will have to take a trip up to either Boca or West Palm Beach to visit this ice cream shop. These guys really know how to make ice cream, and create combinations that will keep you coming back for more. If you are a peanut butter lover check out their Chunky Peanut Butter Cup, which comes with Reese’s peanut butter cups and a whole lot of peanut butter swirls.
