One of my favorite things to do down here in South Florida is to explore and taste different craft beers. If you are looking for an awesome day trip check out these breweries below, which are just a short drive away. I guarantee you will try some pretty tasty local beers!
Funky Buddha Brewery
1201 NE 38th St. | Oakland Park, FL 33334
You have to take the time to take a tour of this 40,000 square-foot facility. Having opened in June 2013, this brewery is the first of its kind in Broward County and the largest brewery in South Florida! When you stop by make sure to try their No Crust beer, which tastes exactly like a peanut butter jelly sandwich!
Due South Brewery
2900 High Ridge Rd #3. | Boynton Beach, FL 33426
Due South Brewing Co. started as a home brewing hobby on Mike and Jodi Halker’s back porch and evolved into what it is today with the support of friends, family, and the terrific Due South staff. When you stop by take a tour and make sure to try their Caramel Cream Ale and the Café Ole Espresso Porter.
Wynwood Brewing Company
565 NW 24th St. | Miami, FL 33127
Wynwood Brewing Company is Miami’s first craft production brewery, in the heart of Wynwood Art District, featuring a taproom. They are family owned and operated with the simple objective of bringing fresh, delicious, and creative beers to thirsty South Floridians and tourists alike. My personal favorite is La Rubia, which has a nice crisp bitterness to it with a slight sweet flavor. If you like darker beers then try Pop’s Porter!
Miami Brewing Company
30205 SW 217th Ave. | Homestead, FL 33030
Peter Schnebly started Miami Brewing Company as a side project to give his customers the option of a personally crafted beer while others in their party enjoyed some of Schnebly's fine wines. I love the Shark Bait Mango Wheat Ale, which has a light mango taste with hints of banana.
Biscayne Bay Brewing Company
8000 NW 25th St. | Doral, FL 33122
Biscayne Bay Brewing Company was born to provide the thriving community that surrounds Biscayne Bay with a great bright beer to match the words used by Ponce de Leon to describe it as "a bright, nameless great bay" upon its discovery 500 years ago. The Miami Pale Ale is truly delicious. This classic American pale ale is the perfect all-around beer.
Concrete Beach Brewery
325 NW 24th St. | Miami, FL 33127
Concrete Beach is an artisanal craft beer brewery located in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District. Their mission is to provide great tasting craft beer inspired by the culture and flavors of Miami, all while supporting the arts and community organizations in the neighborhoods we serve. Right now they are serving up the Rica, which is a Wheat India Pale Ale, and Stiltsville, which is a Pilsner.
