In case you didn't know, I will be in NYC, SoHo specifically, for the next couple of weeks for a training. During this time I am going to deviate from talking about Miami food and culture to sharing some of my favorite spots in SoHo, Manhattan.
In order to feel more like a “local” I have decided to try a different coffee shop almost everyday and make sure to always be hyped up on coffee.
Here are a few of my favorite coffee shops thus far:
Gasoline Alley Coffee
325 Lafayette St. | New York, NY 10012
My first morning in the city I just had to cross the street and I was at GAC. This shop is more of a grab-and-go kind of place. I had heard great things about their coffee, and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. I ordered an Americano and added some cream. The coffee was both bold and flavorful. And, if you are into pastries then you have to try their apple muffin – the perfect companion to your coffee.
239 Centre St. | New York, NY 10013
I am absolutely in love with this quaint SoHo coffee shop. I walked in half awake and the second I stepped foot in the door the smell of fresh coffee and pastries woke me up immediately. Not only is the smell divine, but also the interior of the shop is extremely homey and welcoming. I decided this time around to get an iced latte with skim milk since it was a bit hot outside, and it was extremely refreshing and delicious. If you’re hungry make sure to pick up a quiche!
394 Broome St. | New York, NY 10013
The guys who actually put together this spot grew up in New Zealand, and they have a serious passion for energy and creativity - and you can taste this through their coffee. When you walk in you notice the artwork and the publications they have lined up against the walls, which you can take a look at while waiting for your coffee. Being that they are from New Zealand you must order a flat white while you are here!
Café Integral (American Two Shot)
135 Grand St. | New York, NY 10013
First things first, don't be thrown off by the fact that this coffee shop is actually located inside of a clothing store. These guys may just have the best coffee in town. Being that the coffee is from Nicaragua it has an extremely rich flavor. I suggest you order a cappuccino, and don't add sugar.
Smile To Go
20 Howard St. | New York, NY 10013
Right off the bat I have to tell you – don't expect to hang out here for hours. This hip SoHo coffee shop is really small, with only two tables, but totally worth the visit. They have great coffee, and are also known for their dark chocolate chip sea salt cookie. You have never had anything like this before. Trust me.
