Here is the deal, there are so many delicious places we have yet to try just a bit north of our comfort zone - in Ft. Lauderdale. A few days ago I was given the opportunity to check out a new spot, try some mouth-watering menu items and sip on some prohibition style cocktails. Here are a few reasons why I think you need to head over to Ft. Lauderdale to check out PizzaCraft.
For starters this restaurant is part of the JEY Hospitality Group, which if you aren't familiar with them they also brought us ROK:BRGR and TACOCRAFT. These guys know what they are doing.
Can you believe their head chef is FOX TV’s Hell’s Kitchen alum Chef Bret Hauser. Bret, along with the rest of the PizzaCraft team, have put together an absolutely stellar menu that will no disappoint.
Let’s talk food for a second here. You cannot leave PizzaCraft without trying the meatballs as an appetizer. These guys com with whipped ricotta that you are going to want to dip you bread in afterwards. You also need to try the crazy bread. It’s that - crazy. It comes stuffed with cherry peppers, mozzarella, soppressata, scallion cream, and house marinara. This thing is insane. Order it.
Many of their pizzas and pastas come with Miami Smokers ingredients, who we all love and adore, right? My personal favorite is the smoked bacon, which comes topped with scallion cream, fingerling potatoes, cave aged gruyere, fontina, caramelized onion, and Miami Smokers bacon.
I saved the best part for last! So, if you walk towards the back by the pizza oven you will see a door that is slightly open. When you walk in you are taken back to a prohibition style bar, Apothecary 330. Here they are serving up classic cocktails from the Prohibition Era, but with a twist. My personal favorite is the NY Sour. Try it, you’ll love it.
