Wow. In one word, that is how I would describe the sweets action here in NYC. Everywhere you turn you run into a another place where the minute you walk in you are immediately salivating. I ran into many of these spots in my travels these past two weeks, and I would like to share them with you. You know, so I’m not the only one who gains a pound or two in the city that never sleeps!

Doughnut Plant
379 Grand St. | New York, NY 10002

What you are getting: Words cannot describe the sincere happiness I felt when I bit into that tres leches doughnut. When you first walk into the Grand shop you will notice all of the doughnut options in a case on the left. Trust me on this one, just order the tres leches.

239 Centre St. | New York, NY 10013

What you are getting: They have so many delicious treats it’s almost impossible to choose. If you love Oreo’s then you have to try their Oreo cookie. The cookie is completely homemade and delicious. The cream in the middle oozes out so beautifully when you bite into it that it’s practically magical.

Smile To Go
20 Howard St. | New York, NY 10013

What you are getting: Let’s be honest here, I am a cookie monster. I love any and all cookies. I had heard so many amazing things about their dark chocolate sea salted cookie, and boy was I happy I made it over to their shop. I may go back and pick up a few more for the plane ride!

Big Gay Ice Cream Shop
125 E 7th St. | New York, NY 10009

What you are getting: Basically, what you are getting here is soft serve ice cream. I recommend you get a waffle cone, line it in nutella, and add in your swirl of chocolate and vanilla froyo. Simple yet divine.

Dominique Ansel Bakery
89 Spring St. | New York, NY 10012

What you are getting: These guys invented the cronut! Tip here is to get in line an hour before the bakery actually opens because they sell out of their famous cronuts within the first hour!
