Not sure if you are aware of this extremely important holiday, but it is National Grilled Cheese Day on Sunday, April 12. This should be a national holiday. I don't know about you, but a grilled cheese with a really cold soft drink (preferably a Pepsi Max) is just what you need to sooth your soul during these hot Miami days.
I am here to share with you a few of the infamous grilled cheeses Miami has to offer on this very important day.
Radio Bar’s Caprese Grilled Cheese
814 1st St. | Miami Beach, FL 33139
This grilled cheese comes fully equipped with provolone, sun-dried tomatoes, pesto, grilled buttery toast, and with a side of mariquitas and a delicious garlic-mojo aioli. To really make this day special they are also offering their daily happy hour from 6-9 p.m. with 2-4-1 cocktails and draft beers as well.
Ms. Cheezious’ Croqueta Monsieur
7418 Biscayne Blvd. | Miami, FL 33138
What could be better than a grilled cheese with croquetas? This sandwich comes stacked with ham croquetas, tavern ham, Swiss cheese and béchamel on sourdough bread. On Sunday they will also be giving a free New Belgium Fat Tire pint with every purchase of a ‘Must Have’ melt.
Swensen’s Chicken Avocado Melt
1586 S. Dixie Highway | Miami, FL 33146
Not sure if you knew this, but besides having awesome ice cream, they also serve a pretty mean grilled cheese sandwich. You have to try their chicken avocado melt, which comes with sliced tomato, green peppers, and Swiss cheese.
Daily Melt’s White Truffle Bacon Cheddar
98 NE 2nd Ave. | Miami, FL 33127
There is a reason why this bad boy is on the gourmet melts section of the menu. It comes with crispy bacon, cheddar, provolone, and roma tomato on sourdough bread. You may also want to pair this with one of their handcrafted milkshakes. I mean only if you are into that sort of thing.
The Cheese Course’s Brie Grilled Cheese
3451 NE 1 Ave., Unit 100 | Miami, FL 33127
These guys were voted Best Grilled Cheese Sandwich by The Miami New Times in 2014 – they are serious about grilled cheese. The way it works here is you choose either white or whole wheat French baguette, then you choose your cheese (I go for brie), and then you can add turkey, bacon or black forest ham.
