Let’s be honest here – I bet you that most people reading this post right now haven’t exactly eaten very healthy these past few weeks. Well, you know…with Halloween and all those Snickers and Reese’s, and then there was Thanksgiving. Oh, and the holiday parties!
I am here to give you a few healthy options to check out over the holiday season so you don't completely inflate like a hot air balloon!

There was a time when I was eating here once a week. If you go for lunch you will probably have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it’s totally worth it. They are committed to serving organic vegetables and fruits; free-range, grass-fed, hormone-free, and antibiotic-free meats. My personal favorite dish is their black bean veggie burger – it comes with tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and garlic aioli on a multigrain burger bun with sweet potato home fries. Those fries though…so good.

This spot is absoletly perfect for those that work in the Gables area. Having been open only a few months they have a pretty nice steady flow of traffic. The locals are coming to not only have their cold pressed juices like the FCK Cancer (kale, spinach, lime, cucumber, and granny apples), but also for their daily organic specials and delicious soups. Oh, and did I mention they also serve Panther coffee cold brew?

I am newly obsessed with Ten Fruits, which just opened not too long ago in Coral Gables. After a workout I stopped by and picked up a papaya jungle, which has papaya, mango, carob, coconut and almond milk. Boy did that hit the spot. I also recommend you pick up a delicious acai bowl. My choice? I would order the acai coco bowl - it has toasted coconut on top!

The mental lentil is the first item under their signature dishes. This bad boy comes with a lentil patty, black beans, quinoa, pico de gallo, plantain, sautéed onion, cheese, avocado, and tahini sauce. You can get it as a wrap, gluten free wrap, collard wrap, a salad, or a bowl. I can’t express that happiness I feel when I eat this wrap. I can only hope you feel the same when you visit Choices!

(Coming soon to Coral Gables!)
I can’t live without My Cevhice’s tacos. They are essentially make your own tacos. You can choose from fish, shrimp (which is what I get), octopus, or raw tuna. You can get your tacos with soft flour or corn tortilla, or as a lettuce wrap. Then they are served with pickled red onion, queso fresco, radishes, cilantro, and lime spiced corn chips (so good!). For those who don't like tacos then get the ceviche bowl!
