Let’s face it, with Halloween over and gone, the eating only begins to get more intense. Soon it will be Thanksgiving and then we have the Christmas season. With all these intense foodie events you need to make sure you stay somewhat fit throughout the season. Here are a few fit events you can partake in, and at the same time have a great time!

The Color Run

The Color Run, also known as the Happiest 5k on thePlanet, is back in Miami, FL for the 2015 Shine Tour on November 14th at Sun Life Stadium! This event has become the single largest event series in the world since it's launch in 2011. The Shine Tour enhances the experience that Color Runners already love with an all-new Sparkle Zone™ on course with unique opportunities for colorful photographs throughout the course. Color Runners will receive a limited edition Shine Tour Participant Kit, including: custom race t-shirt, gold finisher's medal, shiny tattoos, tri-color headband with silver stitching, classic color packet, and brand-new shine powder packet.

The 2015, 38th Annual Key Biscayne Lighthouse 10K/5K Run starts and finishes near the base of the historical Cape Florida Lighthouse in Bill Baggs State Park. Both races run through the State Park and the beautiful Village of Key Biscayne. Free state park entrance, water stations and race clocks throughout course. Food, water, adult beverages, music and massages for all runners after the race.

If you are looking for a full athletic experience then this is your race! You will get to swim in Larry and Penny's crystal clear lake, bike through farmland areas and run through the zoo! The first mile includes paved road and some hard packed dirt road that takes you through the back gate into Zoo Miami where you will run by various zoo animal exhibits. At that point the run course goes down and back the beautiful palm tree lined Zoo Miami main entrance, then re-enters the Zoo at about the 4 mile mark for more animal exhibits. The run then goes through non-public areas of the zoo to another back entrance to Larry and Penny Park and from that point back to the finish area.

Turkey Trot 5K and 10K
Tropical Park

Thursday, November 26th at 7:30am

Start your Thanksgiving off on the right foot with this race! The Baptist Health South Florida Turkey Day Run Miami presented by Publix lines up inside Tropical Park next to the baseball fields. All participants will begin by following the path through the park, past the tennis courts and then head out to Bird Rd. The route proceeds along Bird Rd. and then back in through the main entrance. Participants continue following the main park road and will pass by Miami’s famous Santa’s Enchanted Forest and wrap back around the park stables. All completing the 5K course will make their way towards the stadium and finish the last leg of the race with one lap around the track.
