Not sure if you are following what I do on a daily basis on my Instagram, but by this point you know I love Miami, and I love food, right? Over the holiday I decided to take a day trip down to the Redlands and Florida City area of Miami-Dade. You might be thinking, “What’s all the way in BFE?”

Over 55 years ago two brothers, Ray and Russell, began raising strawberries and they set up a small stand to sell them to the locals. Over the years the business has not only grown, but now you can go pick your own strawberries and pick up the most delicious, mouth-watering cinnamon and pecan rolls you will ever taste in your life. No joke. People drive hours to pick up a dozen rolls and their strawberry milkshakes. It’s more than worth it.

I had recently found out about this fruit stand operating in Florida City, which is open 7 days a week. When you walk in you are immediately greeted by the colors and smells of the perfectly ripe fruit they sell. If you look around you will see they have set out samples for you to try. Besides the fruit, jams, and guacamole they also sell milkshakes and smoothies. I am not going to lie, the papaya banana milkshake I had at Robert Is Here was by far one of the best drinks I have ever had. Plus they have a petting zoo out back, which is a ton of fun!

The pitmasters at Sonny’s BBQ do not play around when it comes to BBQ. These guys know what they are doing. My personal favorites right now are their BBQ pulled pork and pulled chicken. These guys have perfected it. The meat is perfectly seasoned and smoked, plus some parts of the meat are crunchy from the smoker so you get a little bit of that char grilled taste. So out of control. You have to try Sonny’s.
