So it’s the first week of the New Year, which probably means that somewhere on your bathroom mirror you have a list of a few resolutions. I bet you some of them include – loosing weight, staying in touch with friends, and either getting a raise or a promotion. Am I right?
Either way, I am here to give you a list of a few things to keep in mind of what you can do this New Year in Miami.
1. Stop eating so much brunch and get into shape. After all the delicious food and family gatherings we ended 2014 with we are all in need of a little body shaping. See below for a few of my personal favorites when it comes to getting in shape.
Crossfit Soul: This is by far, my favorite Crossfit gym in Miami. The owners and coaches are extremely dedicated to their members, and are willing to go the extra mile to see you supersede goals. They have some awesome promotions going on this month so head over to their website ASAP!
Skanda Yoga: If you are looking for something not as intense but still good for the soul then this is your yoga studio. Don’t let this small one room yoga studio tucked away on a side street in Brickell fool you. The instructors are hardcore and will help you get into the poses and whip you into shape.
2. Drink less and do a juice cleanse. We all want to clear our body from all those toxins – what I mean is all that food and alcohol you drank last year.
Jugofresh: These guys are awesome. They went from one shop in Miami Beach to now more than 5 stores in Miami-Dade. They have different cleanses depending on how active you are during the day.
Ten Fruits: I am loving this new juice bar, now with two locations. They have three levels depending on how much of a juice cleanse pro you really are – the cleanse starter, sustaining cleanse, and the cleanse professional.
3. Don’t eat so many Cuban sandwiches and eat a bit healthier. You all know by now a girl can eat. I live to eat, but I also know that every now and then I need to give my body good, clean food – and the restaurants below offer just that.
Choices Café: When you visit these guys anything and everything is delicious and organic, but my personal favorite is the mental. This bad boy comes with a lentil patty, black beans, quinoa, pico de gallo, plantain, sautéed onion, cheese, avocado, and tahini sauce. You can get it as a wrap, gluten free wrap, collard wrap, a salad, or a bowl.
Green Gables Café: This guys are committed to serving organic vegetables and fruits; free-range, grass-fed, hormone-free, and antibiotic-free meats. My personal favorite dish is their black bean veggie burger – it comes with tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and garlic aioli on a multigrain burger bun with sweet potato home fries.
